Pub and kitchen close to the Gate complex that was formerly known as Sam Jack's

The bar is named after the former music venue The Mayfair that was located in this area in the 70's and 80's and which featured many popular bands and performers.

There is a large glass fronted exterior with an impressive glass entrance. This gives a bright and airy feel to the place during the day.

From the main entrance the bar is to the right and there is a large staircase to the left hand side that leads to the Dolce Vita on the second floor.

A further smaller bar also serves drinks and is located to the rear of the bar.

There is plenty of seating throughout the bar with tables and chairs and high seating.

A tea and coffee shop is located at the front of the venue serving teas, coffees, soft drinks and a wide selection of sandwiches, snacks, salads and delicious cakes.

There is smart low drop down lighting over the bar with stylish decor and fitments and a part tiled and wooden floor throughout the bar.

The glitter ball which was the original one that was used in the old Mayfair venue is located in the centre of the bar.

Regular music is on play at most times with a DJ featured on most nights.

The DJ is located in an elevated postion next to the bar.

Live sports including premier league football is shown on large screens and widescreen tv screens throughout the bar.

Some games machines are located at the rear of the bar.

The Dolce Vita located upstairs is available for private function hire but also has booth/table booking facilities coupled with table service and drinks packages.

The bar should attract a varied clientele of students, business people and those visiting the Gate complex, restaurants and cinema.

It should become a popular attraction in this area and I expect the bar to be busy most times of the day and very busy on the weekend.

Disabled access is very good with a designated disabled toilet at the rear on the ground floor. Toilets are small and clean.

Price: Moderate.
