Large traditional pub in the Benton area of Newcastle.

The pub can be accessed from a door at the front and to the side. There are two bars - the front bar is a traditional old style bar.

To the rear there is a lounge bar area that can be accessed from a door at the end of the bar.

There is plenty of seating throughout with tables and chairs and leather backed seating. The decor is of a traditional style with stained glass windows and old local pictures on the walls.

The pub is fully carpeted throughout and there are 2 fireplaces with a picture of a ship over one. Live sports are shown on widesreen TV's with live football and horse racing featured.

A small comfortable beer garden outside area is available at the back of the premises. Free WiFi throughout the pub.

A friendly, pub which keeps a good pint and real ale selection. Although predominantly a locals bar the Staff and regulars are welcoming to new guests and it doesn't take long to feel like one of the crowd.

Food is often home cooked - Sunday Lunches in particular with home cooked roasties and Yorkshire puds are excellent value at £6.45.
