Large sports bar/lounge located at the Gallowgate end of the Newcastle United St James Park stadium.
The bar which was previously named Shearer's is one of the largest in town with 3 levels.
There is an impressive glass frontage that spans the length of the exhibition stand (Gallowgate end). The ground level has a long bar and is decked out in a modern style.
There is plenty of seating with table and chairs at the front of the bar as well as ample standing space to accomodate the crowds on match days.
There are several widescreen TV's showing re-runs of past Newcastle matches and some memorabilia from Alan Shearer (football shirt) is also on display.
The middle level now has extra small boots spanning its length, some with their own TV screen for watching the matches.
There are several screens showing sport at all times with all Newcastle matches covered. This area also has another long bar and there are more football pictures on the walls.
The top level has two bars at either end with a mixture of lounge seating and tables & chairs. This area is mainly used for private functions and parties.
All of the different levels can be accessed by a staircase at one end and a lift at the other. There is regular music on play at most times. 2 pool tables available.
The bar attracts a mixed clientele and is extremely busy with the football crowd on match days. It is also very popular with visitors to Newcastle as well as business people and shoppers.
It can get busy in the evening when matches are being shown in the bar. An outside covered seating area with tables and chairs is used when there is fine weather.
Hire the bar for your function or party - up to 1200 guests can be catered for - ask at bar for details.
Disabled access is very good with a ramp at one end and a lift to all floors. Toilets are smart and clean. The bar is fully air conditioned.
