Traditional gastro pub on located next to Newcastle Racecourse in the Gosforth Park area of Newcastle.

Named in honor of the winner of the 1927 Pitman's Derby, the Border Minstrel was originally the west pavilion of Brandling House.

The pub has a beer garden with plenty of seating outside which is used during events and when the weather is kind.

There is plenty of seating throughout for diners with tables and chairs and stools by the bar.

Live music is featured throughout the year and advertised on Facebook and Twitter.

There are several TV's throughout the bar showing Live premiership football.

The pub attracts in the main regulars and locals and visitors to the Racecourse during meetings. It can get very busy when the Racing is on.

Functions can be arranged on request in the bar. Free Wifi. Quiz night every Wednesday from 7pm. Dog Friendly.

Children under 18 are welcome until 9pm.

Disabled access is very good with the bar all on the one level. Toilets are small and reasonable.
