Bealim House is Newcastle's first Gin distillery, bar and eatery. The bar is home to The Newcastle Gin Company and has the city's only working in-house Gin still. There is an abundance of seating throughout with tables and chairs in every area upstairs and down to cater for the lunchtime diners. The bar is smartly decked out with a wooden floor, wooden panelling and exposed brick walls. The pub is bright and airy with large windows to the front and wooden blinds. The downstairs level has a long bar with a wooden floor and the Gin still is a noteable feature located to the left hand side of the bar. There is pipe-work interlaced in the ceiling and smart low down drop lighting. The upstairs is accessed by two large staircases from the main entrance and to the right side of the bar. On this level there is a further bar with shelving and high stools that run along the length of the window. There is also additional seating and the decor is mainly the same as downstairs. Regular music is on play at all times. Live music - Acoustic night every Friday from 8pm. The pub is very busy at all times attracting a mixed clientele of locals, business people, football crowd and shoppers. It is particularly busy on match days given its sporting theme and position. Private hire can be arranged with a large table provided (for up to 10 people) with its own beer pump. You can then pour your own beer from a keg of your choice. Contact the bar for further details. Disabled access is very good with a designated disabled toilet located next to the main bar. Toilets can be accessed downstairs from the main bar and there are further toilets on the upper level. They are small and clean and in good order.
