The Gate is a new complex that is situated near to the Haymarket and close to the main shopping area in Newcastle. It includes an assortment of bars, cafes and restaurants, a casino as well as a 12 screen cinema.

The bars include Tiger Tiger, Mood, Raw Hide Bar, The Keel Row, Sam Jack's, Players and Beyond Bar and Grill. Asper's casino also takes up a large part of the Gate complex. This stylish Las Vegas casino has a bar and restaurant in addition to the gaming facilities.

There is a varied selection of fine restaurants which include The Spice Cube, Ask, Wokmania, Frankie and Benny's, TGI Friday's and Nandos.

The Gate is close to the Newcastle United football stadium and the Chinatown area of Newcastle. There is also a host of pubs nearby in Percy Street, that runs the length of the Haymarket.

This ever expanding area of Newcastle is now extremely popular with many of the bars open late in the evening with some until 3am.
