Traditional old Newcastle pub that is very similar in appearance to the former Lord Collingwood pub that was further down the street.

There are two main entrances that lead through to a large main bar. There is also two TV's either side of each entrance and a large drop down screen to the left hand side.

The pub has plenty of seating throughout with tables and chairs around the interior of the pub and there is also ample standing room around the bar.

There are numerous old pictures and portraits hung around the walls and a high ceiling which gives the pub a spacious feel.

The pub is usually packed with locals, market traders and shoppers at lunchtime. It is also very busy on match days.

Live sports including premiership football, racing, boxing and six nations rugby featured on large screen and several TV's throughout the pub.

A large CD juke box is situated near the entrance and regular music is on play most of the time. A dart board is also located at the rear of the pub.

Free room hire can be arranged with a buffet for karaoke or disco entertainment. The pub could do with a little updating in places however this does not deter the locals.

Disabled access good. The toilets are small and reasonable.

Price: Reasonable.
